the limits of LucidDB

    hello...

i want to know about the limits of luciddb. What are they?

    thx u...

  • Hey markus. What specific limits do you want to know about? A discussion of limitations and tradeoffs is only useful within a certain context!

For a simple example, in the context of an application that wants to do a lot of single row inserting and updating, LucidDB is probably not the best choice and is limited by its column-store architecture. But in the context of an application that does a lot of selecting along with batch inserts/updates LucidDB can be a great benefit because of its column-store architecture. If you're more interested in limitations in the sense of benchmark performance, you might want to look at http://pub.eigenbase.org/wiki/LucidDbDocs#Benchmark_Studies
